Well looking at your "state map" you really are just a weekender and don't travel far. You would find trying to stay only at state/national/county parks a real hassle if you were traveling say to Fl and then to Me on any sort of reasonable travel schedule.
Well, you'd be wrong.
We haven't been a "weekender" since 1987. And remember, the West Coast is about 1400 miles long and we have camped up and down it for nearly 30 years.
We never camp weekends only. We often camp for 2-6 weeks straight.
In fact, we're leaving for another 6 week trip and there won't be a KOA in our itinerary.
