While KOA'S are a chain they are independently owned. I have stayed at some that were very nice and stayed a extra day or two, others I could not get out of there fast enough.

KOA is nothing more than signage/branding, with the exception of a handful (less than 10) of corporate-owned parks. Every other one is an independently-owned park that the owners pay royalties to KOA on all stays and store sales in exchange for listing in the directory, online site, reservations system (Kampsight), etc.
Other than the online reservation system, one really needs to ignore "KOA" in the name and consider each one as an independent park.
I understand your point. But the KOA name is supposed to stand for some quality standard. Hopefully you can count on a KOA to be clean, well run, with a few amenities vs. a dump with lots of seasonals that make transients feel unwelcomed.
If you have no idea what kind of park it is hopefully you can count on KOA standards.
KOA does not mean, cheap prices, concrete pads or incredible WIFI!
KOA = your average to above average private CG.
My thoughts are the OP's complaint is without merit $47.00 is not high priced for a FHU private park. WIFI and water pressure are always questionable and generally lacking.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.
Sort like going to a state park and complaining there are too many trees and the sites are too large
