I think staying away from the east side makes more sense right now. As someone pointed out let the fire figghters do their job. We were out on the east side in early June and the GTTS road was closed from the east side just past the CG. We found lots to do including a trip up to Waterton but now is not the time.
After diverting to Banff (geez talk about expensive) we came back down and found things to do on the west side and if you have to go to GNP go there right now.
