We cancelled our trip to Glacier next week. Our main point in going was to do the GTTS road. We also wanted to experience the whole park and coming from the west side we would need to be able to drive the GTTS sun road to get to some of our destinations. We just felt it would be better to wait till next year. Couldn't see driving 650 miles one way and not getting to see everything. We've also dealt with smoke from forest fires here in Oregon in years past. It's not really worth it to be in a smokey area. We realize that the west half is fine but that's just 1/2 the park. It's like going to the coast and walking out on the beach but you can't see the ocean. I suppose if they open the road next week then I guess we should've gone. It's not going anywhere so we'll just wait till next year when conditions should be more favorable.
