Williamsburg and D.C. Campground recommendations

We are considering a trip where we will spend several days in each area, and we're hoping for recommendations. We generally prefer state/county/national parks to private cg's, but that is not a deal b...

You didnt say when your travelling, but if in a couple of weeks, Newport News park is great, about 20 minutes from Williamsburg, easy access, and on Nov 23 they start their Parade of Lights which is a gorgeous display. Open year round, water and elec.
