Williamsburg and D.C. Campground recommendations

We are considering a trip where we will spend several days in each area, and we're hoping for recommendations. We generally prefer state/county/national parks to private cg's, but that is not a deal b...

Another vote for Newport News park. Besides a nice campground, there are lots of things that might interest the kids: hiking trails, a lake, and who-knows-what else. It's a big park designed with lots of community activities in mind. (Stayed there once.)
