That is correct the gate is not down during the day. They lower it around the time the office closes each evening. They just want to make sure are the amenities are there available and good working order for the paying guests. Guess the wristbands are cheaper then having a guard at the gate.
Like I said earlier you got used to them fairly quickly and even my autistic son was ok wit's them as long as it could take it off while at the camper.
