An escaping trailer would be entertaining! But fortunately, the slope is gentle, the street is flat, and not much would happen. I suppose I could attach a pull cord to the breakaway cable to trigger the emergency brake.

So if I were to attach the winch to a ball, it would hang down from the coupler on the tongue. But I guess that as soon as I put tension on the cable, the winch would straighten out. I might experiment with that. Carefully.
