Winter camping in Grand Junction

So we are out on our first winter camping trip. Drove from Colorado Springs to Palisade (close enough to Grand junction) enroute to my parents.

Camping at Island Acres, it's amazing! It's a state park and no staff, so we dropped cash in the drop box and picked our spot on the Colorado River. Nobody here but us.
Played with the kids Christmas gifts to include my son's Red Rider 200 shot carbine action range model air rifle. Haha! It's a lot of fun just different thing things to do than the summer.

We're definitely coming back in the summer with our friends. Loop A, spots 1 and 2 have our names all over them!

We thought about it too, but with zero people on the grounds, we shrugged it off.
Pics when I'm not on a mobile device.

    Double ditto.
  • Careful with that Red Rider 200 shot carbine action range model air rifle, you'll shoot your eye out!;):B

  • Enjoy your time. Nothing like super special camping time in mid winter to cement a family campout in memory.
