winterize sticks and bricks?

Hey Snowbirds, This will be my first year leaving for the winter to spend time in mild climes.Do you do anything special to winterize the homestead before leaving or just a matter of leaving the heat on. Thanks for any help. John in OR.

    I have water turned off at the street and blow out all my lines and pump in R V antifreeze, If left heat on I would worry about lose of power are furnace stop working, would not take long for the lines to freeze and burst if that happened
