Chicago/NW KOA in Union, IL will probably be closer to your route than IL Beach SP. It opens April 11th, according to the 2014 KOA book. LaSalle-Peru KOA (IL) opens April 1. Neither is great, but they'd do for an overnight. Not sure if they're open, but Hickory Hollow CG, also near Utica, IL, is decent as well, and quite convenient to the interstate (on I-80 but not too far east of I-90).
