Planning is a lot of fun -- but sometimes things go sideways, and sometimes that is good. One summer, we had planned to go to the Northern Cascades in Washington. As we crossed the Columbia, DW calls the ranger to ask about current conditions. The ranger says "don't come -- all of the trails are under ten feet of snow." DW looks out the window, sees Rainier, tells me to take the next exit, and we spend two great weeks hiking and camping on all sides of that huge mountain!
So you never know. The good thing about RVing is that you don't necessarily need reservations (except right on the coasts). You can almost always find something at the last minute, unlike folks who depend on motels.
When in doubt always call ahead and always have a backup plan. Things sometimes don't work out as planned. Thanks for bringing that up.
