Worth stopping in Yellowstone Park at end of October?

Can anyone tell me if there is any point in stopping at Yellowstone during the last week of October, first week of November on our way down to Arizona? Or is it too late in the year to see anything.

We're hoping to stay outside the park from the 8th through the 15th of October. We spoke to several local sources and we we're warned that most everyone shuts down around the 15th (or earlier if the weather deteriorates.)

We've booked a site anyway (Dubois) and are keeping our fingers crossed!

Most long term weather prognosticators are talking a prolonged fall so maybe we'll luck out!
