Mountain Lakes Campground is listed as being in Summersville WV. It is not far from the New River Gorge area. You can make reservations online. The campground is well cared for,but most sites do not have sewer hook ups. Babcock State park is not easy to get to, there used to be a camper length restriction because the sites are small. Mountain Lakes is closer than Pipestem to the New River Gorge area. Some of the white water rafting companies have camping areas for RVs. they are in the Fayetteville area. That is the heart of the Gorge.
