- NinerBikesExplorerCrazy busy at Quartz fest ham radio gtg at MM99, south of town. Tues was a huge driving mess in front of the tents.

- pnicholsExplorer IIWe have stayed at Rice Ranch - a pretty good spot for $7 close to a lot of the action ... but not close to the main rockhound show.
Recently we've been staying at the rockhound show free drycamping lot that also has free shuttles to come pick-you-up/drop-you-off every 15 minutes. This is a long way from the Big Tent, so we have to drive there from that camping spot. - SCVJeffExplorer

Roadmaster, Redlands, etc are out back as always amd Roadmaster is in the tent in the same place.
SVC Jeff, I was referring to your post that said "it would be nice to open the south BLM land for parking". The "Big Tent" sure isn't what it used to be, when Goodyear Tire, multiple hitch manufactures, and many other RV related industries showed up. Now there is Chinese massages, copper bracelets, and of course slicers/dicers (direct from New Jersey boardwalks, and cookware.
The tent seems to have about the same number of wallets, un-necessary cooking utinsels, etc. it's had for years. But what you gonna do if they pay the rent? Either way there's more than a weeks worth of stuff to see, the tent is far from the only thing going on. Campfires, seeing friends, breaking things to have projects, flying RC can keep us at the campsite for days without worrying about everything else either there or lacking - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIWe also drove south to several of the BLM CGs. Just not as many rigs as we've seen in the past.

Double post - Snowman9000ExplorerPhil, if you are willing to pay $7 to park, you could register as a dry camper at the CG directly across the street to the east of the big tent. Trying to remember the name of the place... Maybe Mr Wizard can say, he stayed there last year.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIYup, we're in the Greasewood CG and it's virtually empty of rigs. Haven't been to the big tent area but cars are in gridlock on 95 over 10.
- dons2346ExplorerGoing through the tent yesterday, I saw a lot of magic potion sellers, elixir salesmen, hot tubs, plus a bunch of worthless stuff for the RV'er.
I did strike a good deal on a Green Mountain Davey Crockett smoker.
Oh yes, it was 34 this morning
