Thanks for the swapmeet info, and of course I left the HT at home..
SCVJeff out at Plomosa I see. Have toad to get to the Tent and Tyson ? Did you get a scooter?
I bought a folding cane/ stool that I carry on my shoulder but haven't had a need for it yet, I'm pretty impressed at the rehab and stamina that's returned in just a few weeks, but yes we already met the scooter folk, just in case.. - LenSaticExplorer

Lensatic, I don't know. Haven't really been active locally for over a year. Just read that info on local clubs newsletter.
Update, I checked Quartzfest and they are giving the exams. Are you going?
Not this year but maybe next year. I've got a club only a few miles from here, but their meetings are during my dinnertime. :D
LS - GottahaveitModeratorIt's a rough life...we will be there tomorrow :) 74 sunny degrees in Palm Springs area now. Loving it !!

Here's the info from SFVARC on Quartzfest!
QuartzFest is a week-long ham radio, camping, learning and living event QuartzFest 2016, celebrating its 19th anniversary, is an ARRL Specialty Convention being held January 17 to 23, 2016 near Quartzsite, Arizona in the United States. No other hamfest in the world brings together in one gathering so much innovation in mobile antenna systems, mobile ham shacks, recreational vehicles, portable and mobile EMCOMM systems, off-the-grid living, alternative energy and radio education.
Location: La Paz Valley Rd., Quartzsite, AZ 33/34'50.2"N 114/13'04.9"W or 33.580630, -114.218015 http://quartzfest.org/index.html - brireneExplorerTough work, but somebody's gotta do it. I hope to be along to give you break over the next couple of years. Enjoy!
- DAS26milesExplorer IIWe should be there Tuesday. So Ham radio buddies are down at Roadrunner BLM. I haven't set up my 2m mobile radio yet in the new MH, just Handi Talkies. Have other folks I chat with on other forums all over from Dome rock to Scaddon Wash to Plomosa. Not sure where we are camping, may move around. Hope the wind stays calm!
