(Yawn) Another day in Quartzsite

Tucson has always been a defacto "home base" for allot of the merchants here.
We came in yesterday and the rock and mineral areas including the Indian hall are packed, with way more crowd than I've seen in previous years.

It was surprising to see how many are already here. These crowds are what I would expect next week, not this early. Haven't been south of town yet do that might be different.

Looks like the weather will move out in a day or so and leave next week clear

Seems like a lot of the rock and gem merchants have moved to Tucson. How long have you been going to Quartzite? Does this seem true to you??

Good Morning Jeff-

I am always looking for overnight camping spots out that way so when we head east from the SFV I can get a jump on it. We know about Morongo and the BLM at the south entrance of Joshua Tree and the Patton museum. Wasn't aware of the Fantasy Springs Casino. Looking at Google map, I see what look like an area next to the parking lot, but it appears to have dirt roads lined up like a housing complex is going in. Is that it? Have a nice trip!
Doesn't look like we are going to Q as the DW has to go next week to the knee Dr out on Newhall Ranch Rd.

Well with the weather looming in LA, we quick bailed and headed east with the rain literally in the rear view. Currently out here at Fantasy Springs Casino (huge dry camp area) and just got less than 10min of light rain. The maps in LA are ugly tho

Was up today to Plamosa RD. for a happy hour. Great day and beautiful weather.

Don't think we are going to make it this year
Don't like the coming weather,
And a few other things in the way
IF we make it, it will be mid way thru the big tent week
