Choose how many days you want to sitesee in Yellowstone and stay in West Yellowstone, Fishing Bridge, or some other close area. If you have a week, four days is doable but not optimal. We did it in 4 days during a cross country trip. Then, stop somewhere else on your way home for 3 days with a pool.
