West Yellowstone would be closest to the park, but based on our experience this past summer, expect a huge traffic jam getting into the park in the mornings. I think we spent almost an hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic just getting to the entrance. If it were me, I'd look into spending a couple of days staying in the park.
The Virginian would be a good place to stay if you were planning to spend time in Grand Teton National Park.
