- agesilausExplorer IIILet me put it this way, we've spent about 2 months in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons over the years and still haven't seen everything. Indeed we are making another trip this summer just to the GTNP after coming to the conclusion last summer that we have missed a lot in that park.
In YNP just visiting the main attractions--the geysir basins and the mud pots along with Mammouth Hot Springs will use 7 to 10 days with a side trip to Tetons. Of course this assumes that you get out of your vehicle and walk around. Don't expect to get anywhere fast in either park, traffic is awful. And do make reservations as soon as possible if you haven't already. - Bionic_ManExplorerWe went the second week of June last year. And that is the last time we will go anywhere near "prime season". Just (way) too busy for our tastes. Fun place, but the crowds can be overwhelming.
- Dick_BExplorerWe took the bus tour of YNP and made notes on what sights were worth seeing on our own.
- LwiddisExplorer IIThere is no place in Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons I wouldn't want to see again and no place I haven't seen that I don't want to see. Follow a tourist bus if all you want to see are the "buzz" places.
- BB_TXNomadIf you are wanting full hookups be aware the only RV park in YNP with full hookups is Fishing Bridge RV park and it is closed for renovations thru 2019. West Yellowstone is best option, but I would make reservations well in advance.
How long for each park is highly dependent on each person. If you just want to see the main attractions around the Grand Loop in YNP, you can do that in two days. If you want to “explore” those attractions and other sights off the main loop road, you could spend many days there. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIINot sure of your question. If you are there to tour the parks then drive every road there is in the parks.
Each park is completely different. We enjoy the hiking in the Tetons and definitely take a easy float trip down the Snake River in the park and you just might see a moose in the water with you. We did!
With our 40' motorhome we've stayed in Yellowstone at Mammoth, Madison and Bridge Bay campgrounds.
In the Tetons we love Gros Ventre campground.
Each national park has a wonderful web site giving things to do, campground info, maps, special alerts, road issues, etc. Study the site thoroughly.

As said - generally if you walk a 100 yards off/away from the Asphalt you will be likely people free (Carry Bear Spray):)
