We went to Yellowstone last year. We came in from the East. Stayed at Buffalo Bill State Park outside Cody for a week, then came in through the East gate and traveled through the whole park and out the West gate.
IMHO, the best park in the area is Grizzly. Our coach fit easily and there was lots for the grandkids to do. From there it is an easy walk into town for shopping and restaurants. It's also close to the West Gate entrance. Their sites are paved with grassy areas between. Above average for a CG.
