Yellowstone (FB), booked!

Well, just booked Fishing Bridge for July 2017. wanted to get a jump and not wait till a site wasn't available. I don`t like planning that far in advance, but since FB books quickly I didn`t want to be out a spot! Now I need to wait till this July to book Colter Bay in the Tetons. their site is only showing for May 2017. can`t wait.
  • I used the website to reserve about a month after opening day.
  • Booking experiences, or camping experiences, Joe? IIRC, we booked the Colorado SPs online (not sure, though - it's been quite a few years.) Most SPs can be booked online anymore - many of them are set up in the Reserve America system. Wow, you are sure persistent! - guess that's what it takes to get through to YNP reservations on "opening day."
  • We starting dialing the phone number to Yellowstone reservations at 7:55am mountain times this morning. Dialed on 2 phones - over 400 times until we got thru at 9:46am got answered. Booked Fishing Bridge for June 7-15, 2017 and also three tours.

Will book on June 1, 2016 - Colter Bay for June 1-7, 2017.

Then the colorado state parks couple months from now for the route leaving dallas texas - May 20, 2017.

    open for suggestions from experiences.....
    Thanks
  • Yes, that is what I was told. it took me a few tries to even log into the reservation site. I was thinking of seeing if I could get a specific site, but I wanted to get it booked without any issues, so I just left it! I did request away from the bathrooms, in t he hopes I will get an end site near the forest. we`ll see.

Now I just need to get Colter Bay RV Park booked.
  • As already mentioned, May 1st is the day YNP reservations opens for the following year, and someone on a Yellowstone employees' site said the phones were ringing off the hook today. They said they expected certain room categories in some of the hotels to be completely booked for 2017 by this evening! Glad you got in, Dodge Guy!
  • We reserved our FB site a year ago and will be leaving home 30 days from now! You will be there before you know it. :)
  • For those contemplating a visit, here's a list of CGs inside YNP with full hookups:
Fishing Bridge. That's all. Also one in the Tetons with FHUs. Colter Bay RV park. Its next to Colter Bay Campground (No hookups). There are a few others just outside the parks. I liked the Virginian in Jackson, WY and Grizzly, just outside the West gate of YNP.
Just think. YNP was established in 1872. the first Model T was built in 1908. Folks had to hitch up the old wagon.
  • Everything for July 2017 was open for the 40ft sites. Today (May 1st) was the first day you could make resv. For 2017.
  • I'm jealous! FB is to far for us now, someday we will get out there.

Just curious, about what % of sites were booked with you booking 14 months in advance?

    Mike
