Yellowstone Mammoth CG in Mid October
I understand that this CG is open year around. Has anyone here camped at Mammoth mid October and if so, what's the availability of sites here and the weather? We're thinking of first traveling to SW M...

We have stayed in Madison, CG in Late October early November Indian Summer after a couple snows - Mid 20's for lows and 69 for highs - Best trip Ever!!!
More animals than People - as that was a few years ago it appears that the Season has extended every year and that more and more people are there later till the road is closed - As is normally the case - Tetons are Great and the Northern part of the park tends to have milder weather - Cody is still open and the WalMart is good to resupply as most everything is sold out or 2X$ or more.
