- dodge_guyExplorer IIWell that’s good to hear. And there were people saying parts of Yellowstone wouldn’t be open for years!
Too bad you can’t get in without a special timed entry. That isn’t what the NPS was designed to do. But if it’s making money!…… - cptqueegExplorer IIAs promised.....99% of roads now open
Missed 2 trips there this season......perhaps rec.gov will be kind to us for next year. - cptqueegExplorer II

It says by 10/15 not until to be accurate. We stuck it out in the snow and cold in the 3rd week of Oct and it was still a great experience. - valhalla360Navigator

I don't recall making a weather prediction. Even if the weather turns on them, spring of next year it should be ready. - agesilausExplorer IIINot until Oct 15th and the snow was flying on us 30 Sep last year. We were chased by a Blizzard east.
- valhalla360NavigatorA kudos to the NPS...
Looks like the north and northeast entrances will be open to the public by this fall. We should be there in a week.

Not sure about Lamar valley road but NE entrance is still shut down. Beartooth highway open to the ski area about 23 miles. Gardiner entrance won't be open this year and maybe not for a long time.

They did some very fast combat style engineering to get those roads opened asap. It is surprising how fast a temporary fix can be accomplished. It will take years for permanent repairs and improvements to be completed. Now is the time to do the improvements that have been needed for the last 40 years or more.
Now is the time to rethink roads in river bottoms. These 500 year events will be relatively commonplace going forward. - BarabooBobExplorer IIIThey did some very fast combat style engineering to get those roads opened asap.
