OP: You have been there twice, once as a 12-year-old nearing the end of a vacation of long driving and once again 15 years ago. Both times you spent one day zipping through the park. The second time you made a wild dash to all the tourist spots and were even upset when Old Faithful wasn't on time. It sounded like you expected someone to press the button at the right time. :)
It doesn't sound like you've really 'explored' Yellowstone. You need to get off by yourself and get immersed with nature to really appreciate Yellowstone. There are many places in that park for solitude, hidden geysers, waterfall, more animals, etc. There are excellent hiking trails. Walk back 1/4 mile from the highway and you'll excape the crowds.
We've been there often and we never tire of it.
If you prefer visiting places just to say you visited, than no, you will probably not enjoy Yellowstone or many other special places.
