YEPEE!

The wife an I retired a few years ago and started to cross off things we've wanted to do and places to go.
Along the way we visited Key West and fell in love with Geiger Key.
After waiting for 8 months we finally got a winter reservation for 2018. This will become our annual pilgrimage!
Oh my how things change...years ago it was snow and snowmobiles...now it's sun and Kayaking.

11 months to go!

Yup, that is why we finally bought our very own site.
Never again will we have to rent and we will live here for six months every winter.
Just keep those hurricanes from blowing us away

We came to the top of the list last year. This will be our second year of a six week stay. We kind of like the jets - free airshow, and mostly only breakfast, lunch, and dinner time. Maybe we will run into you ......

Live not far from an old naval reserve base so the jets aren't really a problem. I love photographing planes anyway.

Look forward to meeting you next year. Hope you have great weather this year...we'll keep the snow & cold north.

Since you are a kayaker: If you can do some long trips we can show you a small bay out on the Atlantic side of the Saddlebunches where no power boats can get to where you can always see ten or fifteen Lemon Sharks and some Nurse sharks. The best days are when the wind is light or out of the west and a mid day tide.
We have been paddling the keys for twenty years and have paddled to all of them except the the Dry Tortougas

  • Keep in mind, those LOUD navy jets are flying over all day long just above your place at low level take off and landings.
From one who also loves Similar Sound and the Saddlebunches for kayaking
