Yosemite Tours from Area Campgrounds

Hoping to be in the Yosemite area in late August this year. In 1998, we camped near the park but couldn't enter (except by very early in the day convoys) due to rock slides. Are there any area cg's that offer path tours as an alternative to taking our 31' C into the park?

A second question, coming from SF to the park - which is the better entry point option?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  • One option would be to stay in or around Groveland, CA on 120 and take the YARTS to Yosemite. Then use the shuttles to explore.

  • Thanks for the good advice. There is a KOA CG in Mariposa offering the YARTS connection. Is this what you guys are talking about? Thanks.

From the looks it Mariposa may be closer to the park, depends on which one is easier for you to get to from your home.
