Hey....
Thinking "not to many people camp on Christmas Eve....."
Worry (think about) the weather, Chains, (plan on snow), road into Yosemite (one of them closes for winter).
Once at Yosemite, in an emergency you could Dry dock in parking area's, overnight but you would have to keep your presence in RV unit subdued. They (park security) will ask you to leave if you are in unit, and not parked to stay in Lodges.
If your full of adventurism, I would just go there.
And the very best thing would be to Inquire (as already suggested) and make reservations ON LINE!
Good luck and be sure to report back on the results (ability to make reservations) and the time you had in Park!
