We spend a week in the spring and a week in the fall at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park just outside of Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg is a fun little town to knock around in but mostly, we go to camp and relax.
The park offers full hook ups for $175 a week. It is off the highway a good ways so there is no highway noise. It's adjacent the airport so there is some plane activity but we enjoy watching them. There is little traffic so we enjoy being able to walk and jog and walk our dogs within the park. The campground was built in an old pecan orchard so most of the sites offer a good amount of shade.
There are a lot of events that take place in Fredericksburg. In October there's a mesquite furniture show downtown. Last time we were there, in April there was a hot rod show going on at the park. Pretty fun seeing a couple of hundred old cars.
There are a lot of Winter Texans who call this place home.
