We love South Llano river State Park, in Junction, TX in the summer.
Lots of great trails for hiking or biking, and a super shady area between the camping area and the river for heat of the day hiking and biking.
there is a day use pool near the bridge over the river at the entrance to the park. We love to kayak upstream from there. Tubing downriver from there is fun but its not much white water tubing. If you are ther over July 4th, the town of Junction always has a good fireworks display, and if you hike up to the scenic overlook in the park, you can watch the fireworks. There is a winery in town, Don't skip the wine slushy if you go to a tasting.
