Yuma, Az

Looking to spend a few days there over the Christmas holiday this year. Any recommendations on a good RV Park to stay at with FHU?

Also, things to do?

Thanks

wintersun, are you watching too much TV or what? I have been in the Yuma Tucson area for about 2 1/2 months and haven't experienced any of this.

California RV'r, here; we spent a week at Catalina State Park over New Years and loved it. Great area and a lot of nice folks in AZ.

Just because the citizens in Arizona can carry does not mean we all do. It's up to the criminal to figure out who is carrying.
Did you give any thought to the fact most in Yuma parks are not residents of AZ or even The US and do not have the right to carry in AZ? No guess not.
So stay in Ca. where the only armed folks are LEO and criminals. Then consider this. If the criminal wants your stuff and you need help in seconds the police are only minutes away.

Yuma (and Tucson) are off my list of places to visit much less stay for any length of time. Violence by the US Border Patrol agents is rampant with indescriminate searches and beatings and shootings and they have the authority to operated anywhere within 100 miles of the border. Forget about Constitutional rights as you have none with the Border Patrol and they know it and take full advantage of it.

Arizona is also one of the gun crazy states like Florida where a person has the legal right to carry a concealed weapon and no permit is required. Last thing I want is to get shot by some idiot with a gun in a campground or RV park. I used to spend a lot of time in both states but now avoid them like the proverbial plague. Too many places where I don't have to worry about nut jobs, in or out of uniform.

.. and you are wrong about FL and concealed carry-- you have to have a permit.
  • OLK, I am guessing wintersun has been smoking too many funny shaped cigarettes.

We will be in Indio, CA for 6 weeks in half of Dec up to early Feb and then, on the way home to TUCSON area we will be staying a week in YUMA.

I have a CCW permit although not needed in AZ; mainly as I have protection with me when we travel and if provides authenticity of my possession in the truck or trailer .... had to pass a background check to get it.

Again, I have yet to see any issues where we live south of Tucson, in Tucson (other than normal groups of bad people that you have in any city in the U S) or in Yuma.

Mike mck's last paragraph states it so well.
