Yuma .. boondocking by a lake/pond

A while back on some blog I was reading, can't remember now which one, someone one was staying in.. very near Yuma, Az. it was boondocking by a pond/lake very small, people came to fish a bit.

There was one I found but it said big rigs not advised. This person had a 40' and a tow.

I'm thinking of going for a few days/week to Yuma in late January,
was thinking of this place or if anyone knows of a reasonable
RV park. I don't need the fancy 300 site places with 4 pools etc.

Or maybe if you have a recommendation, I might consider one.

I will be coming from Q so I'll also need to dump and get water, may do so before I leave Q.

    I don't know. they sad you could take non power boats, but it was prob in the pictures 6-8 blocks long and 2 blocks wide.

    Had a few tables around it. Some trees at one end. I know you
    could stay 14 days so think it was BLM.

    It was close to Yuma.. "a few minutes to town" "just down the
    road to Yuma and groceries"...

    Think it might have been a man made lake.

    It was quiet during the week and on the side they were was
    pretty empty on weekends, on the "other" side it was quite full.

    I wish I could remember the blog.

    Tks, for your input.. I'll try google earth on both those, I'll remember the pictures.

    I guess this is a tough question -- in order to answer it, you'd need a good sense of Yuma.

    How about Fortuna Pond? Go to BLM website for info. It is close to town, just happened to think about it.

    That's it Fortuna Pond... I looked on the internet and they have
    some pictures.. that's it.

    Thanks... it was like trying to remember the name of a song, or
    movie, or a person's name. You can't sleep... this has been on my
    mind for days & days.

    RVGRAMADY, I love it when a plan comes together! When you first posted I was thinking of places and when it was getting narrowed down, all of a sudden the light comes on "Fortuna Pond". Shoot and we only stay about two blocks west of Fortuna Blvd.

    Does the Walmart Supercenters in Yuma, AZ allow 'boondocking?' City Park? Or can anyone vouch for a good n cheap RV park in Yuma, AZ? I want to Winter there for at least 3 months. Is it difficult to reserve a reservation? Are prices there good n cheap, no amenities, as I'm looking for? How far from the border is it? Are there hospitals and Mexican Restaurants there that you can recommend? And most importantly; is it safe for we elderly there to walk the streets sightseeing?

    The city of Yuma has an ordinance prohibiting overnight parking in public places.
