Yep, newbie/anonymous posters responding to decades old posts bubble to the top and date stamp it with the date of the response. This has been my biggest complaint since the change from the old format. It clogs up the flow of the page and doesn't serve anyone. The person who responded never seems to come back and if they did, they'd probably never be able to find their question buried in an old post. And no one responds to questions in very old posts anyway. Lock posts older than a year (with exceptions for sticky posts) and force new users to ask questions in a new topic. That should increase traffic and newbie participation. If I were to guess they land here from a google search and can't see how old the posts are. A simple message "this topic has been locked due to being x years old, please post your question in a new topic".
