As one who also lives overseas from the US, I also think it would be a shame to ship it off to its new home right away. See a bit, put it in storage, come back, see some more. Repeat as often as it takes.
We bought ours thinking that a few years would be enough & we would be ready to return to our boating in Bermuda. Well, it has been 8 years of travel, over 150,000 miles on the truck, & we still have not had our fill.
Meanwhile it is a very nice boat that we have in storage that now needs a restoration job.
