Thanks! That sounds like a perfect plan. We didn't want to take the siding off just to install the cabinets. The old cabinets were fastened from the top and side but only into the luan. I'm kind of surprised they were as sturdy as they were. Fastening into the studs seems like a much stronger long term solution.
