Trailer is still looking worse and worse as the days go by.

I'm wondering if the Tyvek is really necessary. The bottoms of the walls were wrapped in it like a U. I'm guessing it was done that way to prevent the road water from coming in. However since the water was leaking from the top it turned the walls into swimming pools. The bottom boards are all still wet and rotten to nothing. My 8 year old pulled them off with her bare hands. I'm wondering if I should do the wrap that way again or if it caused more damage than good. Maybe just a piece on the bottom so if water did get in from the top it would have a place to go. Ideas?
