One doesn't really know how they throw these things together till you open them up. If I were ever buy a new one I would want to tour the factory. If they refused I would not buy it.

I had a similar project in nature but not in magnitude. Hats off to you guys. Mine had fiberglass sides I was worried about but in the end only the front (and rear) were rotted and had to be repaired, so "just" removing the caps and working underneath. I got away with Rot Doctor stuff and a few 1x and 2x4s.
With that level of damage I think your case of having siding is a bonus. I could not imagine having to redo the fiberglass on my old one.
