We added a 2x4 in the roof so we would have something to screw the cabinets into from the inside. From the factory it was build with the upper cabinets screwing only into the thin plywood ceiling panel. I really can't believe this is how they plan these things out. Maybe that's why they are out of business. Or maybe this is just how all RV's are built. Imagine screwing your kitchen cabinets in your house to the drywall only!
We also added much thicker insulation in the roof. At least the spot we sleep will be well insulated and hopefully cooler in the summer.
