A&E awning lock install

I recently bought an A&E awning lock for my awning while traveling. The lock will not install in the front arm and is actually reverse engineered. I will install on the rear arm, but that does not seem to be the best location.
I emailed Keith, the manufacturer, this afternoon, but of course do not expect an answer over the holiday.
I thought some of you might have experience with the lock and could share with me if there is a different unit or if I should install it on the rear awning arm.
Thanks and best wishes for the 4th.

  • OK, thanks folks for your replys. I had been planning to install on the front, but the rear it is.
    Best wishes to you.
  • Designed for the rear arm and that is where I put mine. It's job is to prevent roller from turning and that can be done from either end. :).
  • They are made to be put on the rear arm as shown in the pictures on the website. HERE

It is very straight forward and easy to install. I have one and it works very well.
