Fans are installed in outside compartment to increase air flow on hot days.
As outside temps warm up the air can not absorb as much heat from fridge cooling coils......the fans increase the amount of air flowing across coils in order to increase the heat transfer.
Vice Versa...they shut down when temps drop because they are not needed and increasing cool air flow can result in lower temps..temps low enough to cause food section to over cool enough to freeze items .
Going to the trouble of installing the fans (which really aren't necessary with a roof top vented fridge......natural draft vs sided vented fridge in a slide-out-----stalled draft) might as well install a snap-disc t-stat.......ON at 100*F and OFF at 80*F
