For several years I used a set of the plastic folding saw horses and a 2' X 6' piece of scrap 3/4 plywood. Thought of attaching a pair of 1' X 4' boards to the underside for added strength but after about 12 years of dual use the one saw horse hinge broke. The table components were light and easily packed and transported.
I have since replaced it with a Camp TableI purchased at Sams Club. This table has worked pretty good as a multipurpose table but is a bit on the heavy side at 40 pounds.
Let us know what you decide on and how it works out.
