The uncoated aluminum roofing used on some older RV's sometimes had a tendency to pinhole from acid rain. As said, coating it with a good RV roof product will fix it up.
Our first motorhome was a basket case Toyota based Class C that we bought cheap knowing it would be a major project. Fixing the leaky roof was actually one of the easier repairs finished with a coating of "Liquid Roof". Opening up one complete wall was the most time consuming since it involved replacing much of the framing and re-insulating. The engine also got an in-chassis rebuild, plus new brakes and drums/rotors all around, new u-joints, a. As the little coach neared completion, we began making short trips with it while finishing up the work. We used it regularly and put about 6,000 miles on it over the next three years when we sold it after buying a newer Class A project. It sold for more than double what we paid for it, and even a bit more than we had in it with the repairs. Overall, we had almost as good a time fixing it up as we did using it. Was it frustrating at times? Sure! But we were determined to "git 'er done" no matter what. And we did...
