Old age may have creeped up on you haha...
The TV signals transmitted today are digital high def TV signals and require the newer type HDTV LCDs to pick them up...
Also the the digtal TV signals are now only on UHF channels and no longer can you pick up any of the older VHF channels...
Your antenna should look like this one on your trailer for best results... The smaller added dipoles you see in this photo is what is working for you now... This antenna has a built-in AMPLIFIER and needs 12VDC injected into the RG cable coming from the anetnna panel to work.

The ANTENNA PANEL should be wired like this image shows...

This should fix you right up... We watch Washington DC HDTV in one direction and Richmond DC HDTV signals in the other direction with our setup. These are a good 50-60 miles away from us...
The digital HDTV signals have to scanned into your HDTV setup prior to be able to view them... Point the antenna in right direction then go to Digital TV setup menu on your HDTV and select ANTENNA then scan for the HDTV digital TV signals...
Even when you are the local camp grounds you have to go to the setup menu and select CABLE then scan in the channels before you can see them.
I suspect your older antenna is not an amplified TV antenna and your older TV may not be a HDTV type...
