Best Portable Macerator

I have an old flojet that was used a few times years ago.. it was given to me and I am not sure it is up to the task?? I hooked it up to power, and it sound weak, the impeller and blades are turning...

Not looking to have an issue when I need it, so I may be getting another..

I generally use hook ups, but the few times it was used, I needed a 50’ run uphill..

What is the best, Sanicon, flojet, other ????

Thanks in advance..
  • I've used the Flojet 18555-000A, Portable RV Waste Pump, 12 Volt DC, Macerator for the past 2 years without issue. It beats the **** (no pun intended) out of waiting in line at the dump station for an hour.

I've been using my FloJet Waste Macerator since 2006 for servicing my trailer tanks at home so it's seen a lot of use over the years. 2 years ago I decided to rebuild it because one of the steel impeller blades had snapped off and it was leaking slightly. The only downside was the internal design had been changed in the intervening years so getting the correct parts for my older version was a bit of a challenge. Eventually I did find the correct parts, have continued to use my FloJet since, and would have no reason to not highly recommend it. :B

    That’s the one I use...
The one I have now does not seem to have a lot of torque? If you run yours as a test in your hand, doe it feel like it has a bunch of torque? Mine just seams to spin....doesn’t seam to have a bunch of torque??

  • One thing on the portable macerators - often battery power alone provides a weak performance. The best performance is if you're running the generator or hooked up to electrical (even though you're connecting it to the battery).
  • The best is the one that does not require a water hose hook up. 12V power, 120V power, something that has a motor to turn the gears and the impeller. I know what I like but that does not make it the best.
  • Probably needs a thorough cleaning ......... crud/hair binding impeller
