We have a Dometic 310 and the china bowl started to loosen up from the plastic pedistal. Only fix was to replace it. Luckily Dometic replaced as it was still under warranty so they shipped us a replacement. Did some research and found that it was a common problem with this model. We are not full timers but don't think this would be my choice if we were.
So no one builds a high quality gravity based RV toilet that works well and will last?
If my experience with one particular model from one manufacturer represents all then your statement would be correct. But if you read my comments it clearly states that I experienced a problem with one model from one manufacturer and when researching the problem I experienced I found that others have had the same problem . Not quite sure how you see this as a representation that no one builds a quality RV toilet that works well.
I didn't quite mean that way... :)
I did research quite a bit on the different brands but all (well, the ones I've researched) seem to have problem in one way or the other. Many have recommended this model, hence I thought I found the model I need but it appears that my research was not complete enough on this model.
Still looking for a good model that does not have any significant historical issues...
As for the composting toilet, we did look into them. We also viewed many videos on them. My DW really hates the idea of this type of toilet. Its not like I didn't try to convince her on this... :)
