Bounder couch replacement

We have a 2016 Bounder 35K and want to change out the couch with either love seat/recliner or a pair of recliners. Anyone do this? We have been to several furniture stores and are having a heck of a time with the dimensions needed. What may have you done? Suggestions? Thanks in advance...
  • We have a 2007 Hurricane and wanted to replace the couch which had peeling, flaking leather. I watched Craigslist in our area for several months and we got lucky. Someone took out the couch in their coach to replace with recliners. We bought their couch for $200. It was practically brand new and the dimensions were the perfect size for us.

I'm 5'1" and my husband is 6'2". Lazy Boys don't fit both of us. We took out one sofa and replaced it with two Best recliners. They also come apart and were easy to get into the coach. The Best recliners are comfortable for both of us which is different. We tried the LB's, but they just didn't work for us. The head/neck placement is just enough different in the Best chair to work for both of us.

We had a custom made wood file cabinet built to go between the two recliners. We had a rental business I managed from the road and needed the file space. The file cabinet has a custom top I can unfold to make a work space or a sewing space.

We've also found http://www.besthf.com/besthf/Furniture/DealerLocator?gclid=Cj0KCQiA2Y_UBRCGARIsALglqQ3dC5vCYLXQhGG_ZE_BmnoLAQgEwRjm8Mv8S727HW8gh1BO3ZJLfJwaApvEEALw_wcB to have a better selection as well.
We also happen to have a local furniture store that carry's many different brands and we found some really nice recliners that fit us perfectly but the $1,000+ cost per recliner crashed that purchase.
    Shop around.

  • Another Lazy Boy vote. They come apart to get in the door and have a model that takes zero clearance (can be against the wall and still recline). It might be called "apartment " model.

  • Although we have a different rig (Forest River 43' 5th wheel), we just replaced our really cheap OEM recliners + sleeper sofa with a La-z-Boy combination (2 recliners and a double seat sofa).

After three years of full-time use, the OEM stuff was finished (lumpy, uncomfortable, springs were sprung (I am the heaviest person @ 160#), and starting to fall apart (the furniture - not me!). The La-z-Boy recliners/sofa are of a much higher quality construction and have a much more robust leather composite material (obviously not cheap dollar wise). However we are full time RV travelers, and wanted something that will last a long time.

The La-Z-boy units have easily removable backs that made it real easy to load through the rig's doorway (28" door).

There are obviously many manufactures/suppliers out there with a large range of price tags. It can be a challenge tho' in finding a set-up that will fit size-wise.
  • I have read of many who got furniture at Lazy Boy. One of the reasons also was that the backs came off for getting the new furniture into the rig thru the door.
  • Lots of online sellers. Have you reviewed for instance: https://www.braddandhall.com/ProductCart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=5
