Most recliners made for the last 5 years the backs will come off. The backs are usually slid down onto a mounting rail/bracket. You will have to find the release catch to get the back off. Probably a catch on each side. You may also have to unstaple the back dust skirt if it is wrapped around the bottom. It may be velcroed which would make it easier. Once you find the release catches and free the skirt, you might have to also pry a little. I used a short 2x2 to gentle free the back of my last recliner, as it hand friction lock on the metal rails.
There is one more thing to consider. Is your love seat recliners wall huggers? If not, will they ride in a position with them set out or will you have pull them out and push them in when setting up and tearing down?
