Converting to led lighting

I am a new rv'r. I bought 16 led light bulbs, 48 SEM on eBay. Now that I received them the silver adapter is too small for the fixture. Has this happened to anyone else? I am not sure what my next move it. My friend said cut the fixture wires and soder then together. But I hate to take away my option to go back to regular bulbs.

  • led light
on sale , fixture with two bulbs $23.
I bought 6 of these and replaced most of the lights in my trailer.
I like that I can turn on one or both bulbs as needed.
I still have the six old light fixtures if I ever need them for a project.
  • I did the same thing. The seller does not have the BA15S bases, so I decided that I will cut off one of the bases and solder in the pigtail. That will give me the option to plug into the pigtail, or install the original bulb.
  • You probably need the BA15S base, it has a single contact. There is also a BA15D base with 2 contacts. When requesting replacement bases, be specific as to which base you want. Probably BA15S, same as the BA9S bases you have except bigger.
  • Take the removed bulbs and break off the bulb portion. Using a soldering iron remove the BA9 ends and solder the BA15 ends on. If you are not in a hurry try pianotuna's suggestion.
  • Hi,

Do not cut the wires. Write to the seller and explain that you wanted BA15 adapters. Offer to pay for them.
  • What did you order? The BA 9S will be too small to fit the standard BA15s receptical.
