couch re and re

After a great deal of searching for a used couch for the trailer the transformation is complete. I looked on Craigslist for probably two years for this new couch. Found it a few hours away sitting in a RV dealership warehouse. It was ordered for a customer and never installed. I just couldn't justify the cost of ordering one new and paying the really high price they charge for these things. This one was a very small fraction of new.

Here are the before and after pictures. Yes, we gave up half the dinette but we rarely ate there anyways.

And there is a bed too that actually can sleep a couple adults instead of the jackknife sofa which at best could sleep one shorter person.

Couch is actually a tan color but appears peachy in the photos. Not sure why. To find a couch that would fit through the door, fit the space, and be a complimentary color was challenging.
Overall, super pleased with the results. Just going to look for a small ottoman now to finish it off. Probably one of those smaller cubes with a lift off lid with storage inside.

This mod was done instead of purchasing a new trailer. Saved a ton of money going the renovation route instead of a different trailer.

That looks fantastic! Next step: maybe you could find some matching ultra leather (or whatever it's called), get out your staple gun, and just re-cover that dinette seat to match. It's like painting a room in your house...one thing leads to another...

It never stops. I have been looking at these pictures and never even noticed that until now. Now my eye goes straight to the dinette seat. I was so focused on the new couch I guess. Of course it would look better if it matched. Time to recover those pieces.

Yeah. I had the seller give me some pretty accurate measurements before I took off to go buy it. The bed was a lucky break. I didn't know how far it would come out. Made it by about a 1/4 inch.
  • Nice job. I replaced my uncomfortable OEM RV couch with a recliner couch from the furniture store. I did not want/need the bed feature.
Most any reclining sofa will fit through the door

  • Great job! Half of a dinette makes a great work area and dinner for two. In our past rv we kept the dinette table but eliminated the booth part and put in two swivel chairs. Freed up more space. Now we don't have a dinette.
