Couch Sleeper Sofa/Storage Conversion

This may have already been covered....if so, please ignor.

For many of us (retirees, full timers, etc), it’s just the two of us in the RV. And, as such, additional storage is a big plus. Here’s a potential answer!

Our 5er came this way, so...I can’t take the credit. But, I thought I’d pass it on.Merely, remove the mechanical components for the fold-out bed, and construct a storage in it’s place.

  • Nice idea if you don't need the fold out bed. In my unit, even with the couch folded up, we still have some room underneath to store blankets, pillows, etc.
  • I did similar on ours. Although it retained the sleeper part. In our trailer the sofa sleeper is an airbed so it kept the underneath completely open. I took off the facia underneath, built a pull out drawer with full extension slided, and attached the facia to the drawer.

similar end results, with lots of additional storage for blankets etc.
  • We have a ton of storage and don’t fulltime, so... we just sold that couch and will replace it with a double recliner loveseat (should receive soon). Gonna relocate the chest freezer and the recliner to the back (were the couch was), and put the loveseat in the slide (directly across from the tv).
